At Torrens Valley TAFE, and at a barbeque
We visited the university-level vocational school called the Torrens Valley Institute of TAFE and saw the students there learning everything by doing. It was all hands-on training. The people there were nice enough to take us through the school and give us a taste of the different departments. This picture is from a short English language session (they have a group of international students there, though it is very hard to get in)
A presentation about their excellent electronic media program.
We did an activity about electronics (resistors and how they are classed and labelled).
On another day we had a barbeque at Duncan and Rosemary's house (we had met them in Myponga). Here the students are grilling sausages and meat patties.
That's Duncan on the left, and Rosemary is the one helping the others. That was a fun day. They brought us up to the lovely hills above their area, full of good hiking trails, and we also looked at all the expensive houses in the hills below.
This is West Beach. We had a good time throwing chips (big fat British style french fries) in the air and watching the seagulls catch them in their beaks.
