At Urrbrae High School.

Our student guides at Urrbrae. Urrbrae is an "agricultural high school", where students get lots of everyday hands-on experience with agricultural subjects in addition to their regular studies. They take care of all kinds of plants and animals, and even make their own wine! It's an absolutely amazing school, and a fun place to visit.

Here we are in front of the marsupial sanctuary with one of the directors of the school, Robert Osborne.

This is the Yabby tank. Yabbies are the Australian version of the Crayfish, a crab-like creature.

In the laboratory.

The pigs. They smelled so bad that we almost died just going into the building!

The goats.

Chickens: the students here take care of the chickens and collect and sell the eggs every day.

This teacher showed us an animal that even Australian people rarely see: the Sugar Glider. They are nocturnal (they only come out at night), and really cute.

Saying goodbye. The older men are Robert Osborne on the left and Dean Cresswell on the right.
