Our next destination was Huay Nam Dung National Park, which has a lookout high on the mountain, from which people look down early in the morning to see the fog covering the hills below. This is midday, though, so you can't see the fog. Just wait...

We hiked on a trail that hadn't been kept up very well, so we had to push through thick underbrush in spots. Here all the students were thinking, "Hurry up Christopher and take the picture! The leeches are coming!!!" The leeches were not as insidious as at Khao Yai National Park... but almost. They crawl along the ground like inchworms and hold their heads up to "look" for blood. When they find a target they waste no time getting there. Yuck!

Here is Ploy, coming out of our big tent (thanks to the forestry department for this) in the early morning (about 6:00 a.m. or before). Notice the fog.
