| After the cave, we went on a boat ride through the Sam Roi Yot wetlands, and saw a lot of beautiful birds among the mangrove trees. Our guide said that there were not many birds compared to other times, when the place is swarming with them. Sam Roi Yot is a very important place for migratory birds, as well as local ones. Unfortunately, local shrimp farmers continue to encroach on the land, and the government has been dragging its feet about doing anything about it. This area was supposed to have been put on the Ramsar list two years ago but still hasn't due to local opposition. You will see shrimp farms from above in some of the following pictures. |

| From our boat we could see Khao Dang cliff, which we would climb up the next morning. |
